There are 101 Veterans that served from the Civil War through the Vietnam Wars that are buried in the Browns Valley Cemetery. The documentation of men and women serving after that are still being researched.
The 101 people that are documented include 1 veteran from the War of 1812, 6 Civil War Veterans, 1 Indian War (Oregon), 11 in World War I, 2 in WWI and WWII, and 45 who served in WWII.
In more recent wars we have 4 who served in the Korean War and 2 that served both the Korean War and Vietnam. There are 9 who served in Vietnam only and one who served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.
Vicki Contente, genealogist and historian, has done the research, as well as documented all her work in albums that can be accessed by calling one of the Trustees for the Cemetery District.
